London Olympics 2012: Team Nigeria qualify for 400m semi-finals

 
All hope may not be lost for team Nigeria to clinch a medal at the 2012 London Olympic Games; they’ve qualified for the semi-finals in the 400m female race.

The team is represented by Regina George and Omolara Omotosho.
Regina George was among the three who were first held back on alleged drug use, but was cleared afterwards. She beat five other athletes to win heat 7 in a time of 51.24 seconds, while Omotosho emerged fourth in heat three with a time of 52.11 seconds.
Nigeria’s Amaechi Morton also qualified for the semi-final games for the men’s 400m hurdles, coming third with a time of 49.34 seconds.
The semi-finals will take place on Saturday, August 4, 2012.
